EBAY SELLING LIMITS
As of October 2010, eBay has introduced a new policy in the form of selling limits for sellers. The Internet is alive with reports on blogs and forums about these new eBay selling limits. It is clear that this will affect all new sellers, and even many established sellers. If you read the eBay website it seems to suggest that these new selling limits should only affect sellers with new accounts with a selling history of less than 90 days. If you read the forums and blogs you will see stories from sellers who have been selling on eBay for the past 5-10 years and have thousands of positive feedback. Established sellers can have limits placed on the number of items they can sell for various reasons, the most common is that they might have a few complaints from customers. For people who make a living selling items on eBay, this policy has the potential to be devastating. With this new policy it will make it extremely difficult for new sellers to start a profitable eBay business. New sellers will be limited to 10 sales per 30 day period, until they establish a good selling history. It will take an awful long time to establish a selling history when you can only sell 10 items per month. This will certainly discourage many people from marketing their products on eBay, as it might take several months or even years to establish enough selling history to make a decent profit.
When eBay introduces new policies like this, sellers are forced to adapt, and some sellers may just throw in the towel. The good news is, there are options. There are methods of getting around these selling limits and I will share with you what I have learned about cheating the eBay system. Many of these tricks are simple and straight forward, but before you think about using these tactics you should realize that eBay will suspend your account if they catch you trying to get around their policy. I will tell you how to stay under the radar and avoid their tracking systems, so that you can avoid their detection. Before I begin to tell you how to beat the selling limits, I will tell you that the two most important things to avoid eBay detection, are using a unique IP address for each sign in, and having separate user accounts on your desktop for each eBay/Paypal account. This will help you avoid the flash cookies that eBay put on your web browser.
TRICKS FOR BEATING SELLING LIMITS
1: Use Multiple Accounts - Obviously if you are limited in the amount of items you can sell, then if you have 10 accounts, you can sell 10 times as many items. As easy as it may sound, many people do not know how to go about creating new eBay accounts using different details to avoid having these accounts linked by eBay (note that if you have 2 accounts using the same personal info, the limit is split between the 2 accounts) So you will need to learn how to create eBay accounts using an alternate name and address, credit card and bank account. Here is where you can learn how > Create New Account.
2: Shill Feedback - This is a tactic that is normally not recommended, because there is a high risk of getting caught. Really if you don't do anything stupid, you should be able to get away with it. The only way you can get caught is if they match your IP address or flash cookies on your browser. You can create accounts specifically for buying, that require less verification. Because more than half of buyers don't bother to leave feedback, it can take as long as six months before you can raise your limits if you wait for legitimate feedback from real buyers. Shill buying can get you enough feedback in less than a month.
3: Listing Categories - The limits do not always apply to items in all categories. If your account is giving you a warning message that says you have reached your limit, you can try to list in a new category. For example, if you are selling T-shirts in the category of clothing-mens-casual, try listing the item in the category of sporting goods. This often works and allows you the opportunity to list a few more items.
4: Avoid Negative Feedback - OK there is no way to avoid receiving negative feedback, some buyers seem to just do this for fun. This is how I handle it ..regardless of how ridiculous the buyers complaint is, I always email them and beg for their forgiveness. I tell them that I am terribly sorry and I understand where they are coming from. I offer to give them all their money back right away as soon as they remove the negative feedback (I send them a request for revision). I do not refund the money until the feedback has been removed, and if the buyer did not have a legit complaint, I simply block them and report them to the list of feedback extortionists in order to give other sellers the chance to block them.
5: Offer More Than 1 Item In Your Listings - This is technically not allowed by eBay, but you can get away with it using a creative item description, that obviously suggests that you are interested in selling other items, but doesn't say it outright. For example, you can make reference to shipping discounts for purchase of multiple items, and contact us for details. You can encourage customers to inquire about availability if they need another size, color or style. When they contact you, offer them a bargain.. and just ask them to send the money direct to your Paypal account.
